Prison to Public - Policy Advocacy in Connecticut’s Prison
about us
Our project is focused on concrete policy solutions that ensure the humane treatment of incarcerated individuals, their families, communities, and all others involved in the U.S. carceral system. Emphasizing humanity, rehabilitation, and increased access toward justice, our project will prioritize increased involvement and accessibility for justice-impacted individuals in the policy-making process. Our team will research policy solutions that increase the visibility and voices of justice-impacted individuals in the policy-making process. We will draft an evidence-based policy proposal for adoption by the CT legislature that addresses this need to further incorporate the voices of incarcerated individuals. We will also pair our concrete policy goals with direct service by providing resources to formerly incarcerated women preparing for employment based in Washington, D.C.
